But the Canadian beauty, 22, who is a tiny US size 2, had the last laugh yesterday when she starred in close friend Zac Posen's New York Fashion Week show.
Wearing a corseted grey gown with a dramatic degradé fishtail skirt, she was the perfect choice to open and close the designer's spring/summer 2012 show, which was a celebration of bombshell curves.

Mr Posen played on an hourglass silhouette using figure-hugging, corseted bodices that gave way to fishtail skirts so wide, the hemlines brushed the feet of those sitting in the front row.
Necklines, too, were uncompromisingly sexy, with plunging halters and strapless sweetheart shapes that allowed the decolleté to take centre stage.

It was a hit with a very starry (in fashion terms at least) front row, which included Leigh Lezark and Anna Dello Russo.
Fashion Police panellist Kelly Osbourne, who also attended cast her verdict on Twitter after the show.
She wrote: 'The @Zac_Posen show was hands down one of the most exquisite collections I have ever seen in my life! It took my breath away!!!'

But the article is unlikely to put off fans such as Oprah and Christina Hendricks, who regularly wear his creations on the red carpet.
